“Blind Bart” – Rev. Virginia L Heller

Job 42:1-5
Mark 10:46-52

Responsive Prayer:
God of power and might, you are mercy! And we come before you
with many needs.
Bartimaeus heard Jesus approaching and called out, “Jesus, Son of
David, have mercy on me!”

Jesus answered him, “Your faith has made you well.” Bartimaeus
regained his sight, and followed Jesus.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
There are still many people who need their sight restored. Some
have never heard your truth, Lord, and some have no vision as to
what can be.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
We have leaders who are blind to your ways. Entire nations stagger and fall over countless obstacles.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
Our children cannot see the dangers of their actions, our parents do
not fear your wrath, and we are blinded with selfishness.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
We, as individuals and as the church, often cannot see people’s
needs, nor recognize the need for justice and your work goes
undone.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
